April 4, 9:07 pm. Day 511

One last post of the night.   Stacy took the kids back to the RMH, moved back into our 3rd floor room, and went to  bed early.  I stayed with Gage.  We went for a walk, went to the play room, played Mario Kart, and watched a movie.  His spirits are pretty mellow, not too excited and not too sad.  In his prayers he prayed for a good surgery and that he would come out ok.

I have stayed with Gage to make sure his is not lonely or scared, but I am soooo tired.  3 am is going to get here soon.  Now that he is asleep, I am going down to a reserved parent's room to get a little sleep.  If he needs something, I can be here in a moment's notice.

We are all excited, but know the rough recovery road this will be.  This is his fourth heart surgery, and none of the recoveries have been easy.  With the IV's, wired chest, chest tubes, ventilator, catheters, a transplanted heart, and who know what else there will be, he will have a rough 7-14 days.
Thank you all for the comments, love and concern.  It is a huge lift to Stacy and I.

May our Heavenly Father bless and somehow comfort the donor family.
Jason

Get some sleep. Those little sleep rooms are such a lifesaver. Gage is going to do great!

Love the haircuts to get your minds off what's really happening. Call it OCD, or a special way of dealing with stress..
Don't worry about sleep.. You are all running on adrenaline and good REM sleep will not come until after the surgery. Just keep this little guy happy, fearless and positive, stay hydrated and eat and rest with him, one eye open

Prayers for gage and your family, the donors family and the medical staff. May you all get good rest before surgery and feel Gods arms around you. Praying all goes smoothly and without complications.

There are many prayers out there for Gage and his family. Our prayers are included and have been from the start. We also pray for all those who will be involved in his surgery and care. And our prayers also go out to the donor family and their gift of love and life. May God be watching over all of them and guiding them in everything that they do.
