Sept 10, Not Fixed Yet

10:10 pm
Today was a little bit of a downer day.  The doctors came in and told us that the medicine they had Lindsey on was not working. Jason and I had a feeling it wasn't working. She was still throwing a lot of extra beats. During the night she had another run of extra beats altogether at a faster rate. The very thing the beta-blocker was supposed to be stopping.  So, we are stuck in the CVICU for another 3 days at least. Which also means no school, PT, or playroom. No leaving the unit! She took it pretty hard, but is dealing with it.

They started a new med called Amioderone, which is a really strong med.  They want to monitor her really closely as they start this. They are watching her heart rate and blood pressure. Amioderone will be started IV first then they will change it to oral. If that works then we can go back upstairs to 3 West.  Here is to hoping it works, because I don't know what the next option is.  We are pretty sure that her increase in extra beats is the cause of the alarms on her Berlin, even though the doctors aren't saying it is. A nurse kept really detailed track one night and the alarm was always with or right after some PVC's (the extra beats).

Our adorable little friend Tristen got to go to the RMH yesterday. Stephanie says she looks so much better and is doing great! We are so happy for them. They will wait there for a few more weeks until her next surgery in October.

Jason comes back tomorrow and we are so excited! However, we are very sad to see Betsy and Logan go. It has been so good for all of us to have them here.
