Sept 20, Thursday, Sierra's birthday

Kept pretty busy today on Sierra's birthday.  Stacy made waffles for Sierra's birthday breakfast. She then volunteered at Hunters school and went shopping.  I took Lindsey to school then I went back to the RMH to do some work. After school Lindsey went to PT. In PT she did push-up exercises and played Just Dance on the wii. The therapists say they rarely have a patient on the Berlin as active as Lindsey is.  That is great! I got some good tax work done then took Megan to her first volleyball game against JL Middle school. She did awesome, had some good serves and hit the ball a few times.  The team is big so she will have to work for playing time. She is up for the challenge.

This evening we had a birthday party in the Sobroto room on 3 West.  We invited 3 other families who we have met and who have kids with heart issues/failure.  The Sobroto room was rockin' with 11 kids playing and blowing off steam.

Can't complain about Lindsey.  Whatever med and pump adjustments were made and/or whoever out there has been praying for her, must have paid off. Her Berlin hasn't alarmed for over 24 hour, her VAD has been filling (for the most part) and her PVC's aren't extreme (definitely still there though) . Having said that, hopefully tonight will be just as good.  Thank you for your prayers!

Last night I had my ear plugs in sleeping. When I finally woke up at 1:20am to Lindsey yelling at me, she was unplugged, out of bed, and trying to push her Berlin into the bathroom doing the 'potty dance'.  She chewed me out for not waking up when she needed help going to the bathroom.  So the ear plugs really work, what can I say (at least that is my excuse).

9:37pm. Right now she is itching to go on a walk.  She has unplugged herself and prepared the portable monitor for the walk.  She has checked the leads and turned on the monitor. Her mask is on and "Dad, I'm ready to go". Later

Dr Ashwin doing 20 pushups. If Lindsey has to do them in PT, then the Doctors have to as well.
Stacy all fired up about the Safeway cake for sierra. We had candles but couldn't light them in the hospital.

What a BEAUTIFUL teenager! Jason and Stacy, you two are such amazing parents. The love you show to each other and each one of your children is an example to the world. I love to see the way you face the lows with courage, and celebrate each moment of hope with joy and happiness. Your life of courage s a light to the world! And from all the news coverage, apparently yours is a light that can not be hid. KEEP SHINNING!

Lots of fun in these pictures. I love Gage's tiger mask that seems to be constant. I love Lindsey's pushups, the behind the back no look congrats and also the nurse saying to turn the tape off. The last two pictures showing Hunter is READY for bed! Meghan showing some good form on the serve and then wearing her medal all day. Sierra doing a great job blowing "out" the candles and looking good in the new outfit.
Especially glad to hear the biopsy results are good (coronary arteries) and that the irregular beats are better. Tell Lindsey I may need to get her a little cattle prod or rubber band shooter so she can wake her Dad up!

Yay, for a wonderful BIRTHDAY and party! I am sure the sobroto rm was a rockin' place yesterday...to bad they couldn't have made a special exception to the locked door to the outside and allowed for so some candles to have been blown out!! Yesterday was a busy day in powder, too. Its homecoming week, so we did the big Badger Parade yesterday, followed by the Pink Game lastnight. It was a great night with Ali scoring the very first point of the night and also the final point...a great way to celebrate the night in memory of her sweet mom, RIKI. As you can imagine it was an emotional night, but a very special night with a victory by Powder and also little Jaycee Anderson sang the National Anthem all by herself. She did an amazing job!!! Tonight is the boys homecoming game and the girls will play again tomorrow at home. Don't worry girls you didn't even miss out on JR. High homecoming week as they are going to do theres later...I guess! :)Tell Megan to keep practicing hard and she will achieve so much in volleyball.
So happy to hear that all the prayers are continueing to bless little Lindsey Lou...the power of prayers is amazing! Thank you Lord, for blessing Lindsey and the doctors and nurses caring for her.
Good luck tonight...maybe you'll have to try sleeping with earbuds with music on softly, so Lindsey's voice can still carry over the music if she is in need of your services...or maybe we need to find her a buzzer...hotshot with an extension perhaps!!! :) loves, hugs, and many prayers for each of you---xoxoxoxo
