Sept 8, Saturday - Drop and give me 20!

10:20 pm.
Lindsey had a great day! They weaned her off the lidocaine and started her on the oral beta-blocker this evening.  She went for a walk this morning with her roommate, who was an older woman. Lindsey's nurse this morning told her she had just walked with a celebrity and had her watch our "Today Show" segment. The woman was touched and had Lindsey autograph her little pillow and Lindsey drew a heart with a happy face for her.  It was pretty cute.

Later, Lindsey went for her noonish walk and wanted to have Sierra, Megan and Logan do 20 pushups with her. All of us, but Hunter, got down on the floor and did 20 (or so) push ups.  Even little Gage. We returned to the unit and the nurse slid Lindsey in behind the nurses station.  Lindsey proceeded to tell the doctors that they ALL needed to do 20 push ups. There was a lot of humming and hahhings going on. Finally two doctors dropped and gave Lindsey 20 while she counted. It was funny. One of the doctors was the one that took the staples out of Gage. We told him he had to do 10 more and Gage would be happy to ride on his back. It didn't happen, but it was all entertaining.

Shortly after that, Sierra started coming down with her bad headaches she gets after the IVIG infusion. We are 3 days out and we were hoping she wouldn't get them this time. Last time she got them on the 2nd day after. Unfortunately they hit and she has been miserable the rest of the afternoon. Needless to say, she had no problem going to bed tonight. Hopefully she feels better in the morning.

Jason spent the day working cattle and doing some interviewing at our home for Dateline. He was enjoying some corn on the cob and chard from our garden for dinner. Sounded like a good day there!

Wow, you guys have had a busy week. I worked at school this past week and haven't even had time to turn on my computer so had a lot of catching up to do with you folks. Sorry Sierra has such a headache, hopefully a good nights sleep will help that. Glad to hear it was a good day for Lindsey. Stacy, I spent a lot of my time at school entering immunizations or calculating the lack of, seemed like a lot of incomple ones. They are going to miss you at PV. Have a good night. -K

Sure hope that the Dateline show airs for most of the hour the show runs! That was the complaint from the airing of the first show...not enough time!!! We understood why but to us it just didn't give much time to appreciate your story!
Sorry for Sierra's headache :( maybe next time they won't visit, we'll add that to the list :)
Hope you'll get to enjoy the rest of the weekend. Time flies when you're having fun or at least company, lol!
As always you are in our prayers and thoughts! God bless ALL of you! M.

I am so impressed with Lindsey! I don't even think I can do 5 pushups!

Hugs to all, and hope Sierra's headaches have gone away...
