Osum Tree House club!

Wednesday last week Roper, Sierra, and Megan decided to make a club. They named it the Osum (Awsome) Tree House Club. They hung sign up sheets out by the road and checked it daily to see if anyone signed up. No one has yet, but you never know. I hope our kids never grow out of this fun stage! It is just too short lived. I have picked up some extra shifts and have been working a lot the past 3 days. The kids have been 'osum' to help Jason out at home. I made some cookie dough right before I ran out the door Friday night so the kids would have something to snack on Saturday. Sierra, the good kid she is, cooked the cookies for me. She did 'osum' the first batch, the second one baked a little longer, and the third one, well the pictures can tell the story. We have also started building a shed. We are just laying the footings and we will pour the foundation tomorrow. What normally takes the contractor 2 days we have done in 6. So, I think we all know how quick this is going to go doing it ourselves.

Fun week!

This was a really fun week for Jason and Sierra, because they were able to go to California and see the other half of our family. It was a fun weekend for the rest of us once they got home. Angel and Trista, I love the video and miss you guys terribly. Friday our church had a mother's and daughters camp out. It is really fun and the girls really look forward to it. I enjoy it because they provide the meals and we just have to bring the camping stuff and stuff for smores. I finally learned how to perfectly cook a smore. I figured out if you put your chocolate bar on one half of the Graham cracker and place it on top of your roasting stick (the U shaped sticks), while roasting your marshmallow to a golden tint. Your chocolate ends up melted just right and place the two together and it is instant ecstasy (that is for you Emily). Of course the girls mostly enjoyed just cooking the marshmallows and I ended up eating over half the smores. This baby is going to come out looking like the pillsbury dough boy (or I will).
Happy Father's Day to all you Dad's. We had a picnic not very far from here. It was really fun. Josh and Justin and families, we missed you. Hope all is well with everyone.

Quick update on Sierra

Sierra had her biopsy yesterday. It was her annual biopsy. They run a few more tests, like checking the measurements of her arteries, the heart and other valves. They go through her leg instead of her neck, so she has a little longer recovery time. We just received the results of the biopsy and she got a 000000000!!!!! Which means no rejection. So, we don't have to go back to California for 4 months. We are really excited. Sierra did really well this biopsy and recovered really fast from the anesthesia. The doctor's are really pleased with her checkup. No real big med changes, so all is well!!

Pinewood Derby

Last night , we had a fun ward activity. It was a no boundaries pinewood derby. Jason carved the car and the girls painted it. It was a lot of fun to see all the different creations. We ended up winning the most colorful car, but didn't place in anything. We didn't have time to work the bugs out of our catapult system. It was a lot of fun!

Some of the competitors. The 2nd car from the left is Jacob and Roper's. They took 3rd in the competition. They blew up a balloon and then released it. It worked really well. The covered wagon is Jason's Aunt Pam's. She is amazingly talented.
