Feb 9, Day 235, Saturday, Last Lightning game

Good Saturday. Sierra and Megan had their last Lightning Basketball game. Both did well. Those two are night and day when it comes to competitive sports. Lindsey had a fun nurse today who played games with her allowing Stacy and I and the gang to go out for the game.

Tracy, the English nurse, brought by some toasted crumpets and lemon curd spread for part of our lunch.  We captured a cute video of it.  She is so nice.

Hunter was invited to a birthday party down in Sunnyvale. It was a cute Japanese girl who didn't speak much English. Most of his class was there and they were all having a good time. There are many kids in his 1st grade class where English is NOT their first language.

Sierra went to Nori's birthday party, and Megan went to PK's to hang out.

As for Lindsey, her little friend Natalie, a sister to Rogio who is waiting on a Berlin, was here playing with her. Natalie has become very comfortable in our room.  Lindsey also skyped her cousins in Utah and skyped Molly Smith while she was in class.

For our date night, Stacy and I sat in the corner of Lind's room and watched 'Doubled', while the kids watched some kid movie with talking dogs.

I understand these are pretty boring, shallow posts, but these days we are just livin'.  I don't want to forget the little day-to-day things that go on in our lives.

Sierra delivering a box of Cocoa Puffs to Amanda. Amanda had requested them, so Sierra made it happen. Amanda is on isolation, so Sierra had to gown up to go into her room.

Hunters Birthday party. The Birthday girl is the close one in pink, can you find Hunter?

I just realized that Logan and Megan got to sport the same number for basketball.....had to pull out the Micheal Jordan book for Logan to learn more about one of the best basketball players ever!!! Looks like they had a great time and hope they had an enjoyable season! Ours is wrapping up with only a couple games left. We will continue to keep busy with club volleyball with Marji coaching for another month or so. I bet your weather has been very enjoyable and feels a lot like spring...we have sunshine and a little breeze today. Thinking about you all and praying for your special day. Loves, hugs, and prayers xoxoxoxo

Hunter's striped shirt helps give him away but it is not the only reason. Seeing Amanda in the isolation picture is a little bit unnerving. It is the season for youth basketball. Kalli had a tournament in Jackson all day Saturday. The championship game was so rough that Kalli didn't want to go in for fear of getting hurt. it was so bad that your sister in law was acting like Josh in the spectrum 15 years ago!
thanks for taking the time to update even when there's not much to report. I know I appreciate it and I am sure everyone else does too.

Thanks for sharing the video! You've got the cutest kids. So, I'm curious...How was the lemon curd??? You brave people! I lived in England for 7 years and never tried it. I did try crumpets though, yum. btw - we are in Colorado now. David's in So. Africa.
Love you all and praying for Lindsey and your family.

Some more jokes:
A: What's the difference between toilet paper and a shower curtain?
B: I don't know.
A: So you're the one!

Q: What do you call a broken Boomerang?
A: A stick

Q: What did the stamp say to the envelope?
A: Stick with me and we will go places!

Q: How do you cure a headache?
A: Put your head through a window and the pane will just disappear!

Now a Joke for Mom and Dad:

The Afghan Quarterback

The coach had put together the perfect team for the Chicago Bears. The only thing that was missing was a good quarterback. He had scouted all the colleges and even the Canadian and European leagues, but he couldn't find a ringer who could ensure a Super Bowl win.

Then one night while watching CNN he saw a war-zone scene in Afghanistan. In one corner of the background, he spotted a young Afghan Muslim soldier with a truly incredible arm. He threw a hand-grenade straight into a 15th-story window 100 yards away.

KABOOM!

He threw another hand-grenade 75 yards away, right into a chimney.

KA-BLOOEY!

Then he threw another at a passing car going 90 mph.

BULLS-EYE!

"I've got to get this guy!" Coach said to himself.
"He has the perfect arm!"

So, he brings him to the States and teaches him the great game of football. And the Bears go on to win the Super Bowl.

The young Afghan is hailed as the great hero of football, and when the coach asks him what he wants, all the young man wants is to call his mother.

"Mom," he says into the phone, "I just won the Super Bowl!"

"I don't want to talk to you, the old Muslim woman says.
"You are not my son!"

"I don't think you understand, Mother," the young man pleads.
"I've won the greatest sporting event in the world. I'm here among thousands of my adoring fans."

"No! Let me tell you!" his mother retorts. "At this very moment, there are gunshots all around us. The neighborhood is a pile of rubble. Your two brothers were beaten within an inch of their lives last week, and I have to keep your sister in the house so she doesn't get raped!" The old lady pauses, and then tearfully says,

"I will never forgive you for making us move to Chicago!"
