Baby steps- We'll Take em!

His x-ray looks a little better. The fluid has shifted a little to his left side and his lungs are still a little over inflated. So, his x-ray doesn't look good, but small improvements. We will take whatever we can get.

They took him off his paralytic yesterday waking him up more. So, yesterday evening he was trying to open his eyes and moving his arms and legs. It was exciting but sad all at the same time. Exciting in the sense that he would hold my hand and there was "life" in his little body. Sad in the sense that his face was grimacing like he was crying and no sound would come out. I dearly wanted to hold him.

However, because of him being awake more and a little agitated they had to put his oxygen on the vent back up to 60% during the night. WE were down to 40% most of yesterday. So, we are making progress, but every now and then I get a glimpse at how sick his little lungs really are. His swelling is down and he is looking more and more like my little Gage. The nurses that were here over last weekend keep commenting in awe about how good he looks. Keep your prayers coming, because they are surely being answered. Thank you everyone!

Stacy,

We are so glad to hear the positive news, he is not forgotten in any of our prayers. I keep checking the computer throughout the day, waiting for updates. What a wonderful thing technology is! Good luck to you and give little Gage a kiss for us!

So glad to hear things are moving in the right direction. Stacy and Jason, my heart aches for you; what a blessing to Gage to have such wonderful parents. Prayers are still going up.

It is so nice that you are able to keep your blog updated so we "all" can stay updated. We are praying for Gage always. Alexus was vented for 6 long weeks 4 of which was the oscillator. Enduring to the end is hard to do but you are doing it. You are stronger than I was that is for sure!
I remember the RT vibrating Alexus' back to help loosen the stuff in her lungs - are they doing that with Gage?
You truly have an amazing family!
We love you all.

We are glad for the good news. I really loved the rocky quote the other day so we decided that Gage's nickname should be rocky. We love and continue to pray for you. We would love to help anyway we possibly can.

Stacy it is so exciting to read of his improvements. When the going gets tough... the tough get going! He is a tough one! I get so excited and so proud of him with each baby step... I can't even imagine how happy it must make you. I love you guys and am always praying for you, Gage, and your whole family.

I think this little boy deserves a trip to Lake Powell with Aunt Cindy... don't you think? :)

I am so relieved that he is taking steps in the right direction (finally)...... I'm thinking Gage might be a stubborn one who likes to do things on his own time and there is no question he is a fighter.

You guys have really been through the ringer (for the second time) and it is such a testimony builder to see your great faith. There is no denying that prayers really are answered.
