Rodeo-in' and a Swingin'

We had a really fun weekend. Jason's Uncle Jay and Aunt Bonnie came up from Salt Lake, along with their three kids and 5 grandchildren. We hope they make it an annual thing, because we have so much fun with them when they are here. We had a minnie rodeo (thank you Wendy) Friday. Saturday, Jason was dying to have a group of kids up that he could have an excuse to tie a rope swing to some trees over a stock pond. For those of you who don't know, a stock pond is where the cattle come to water. It is not the cleanest place for a rope swing. There was a cow peeing in the water when they pulled up to install the swing. Along with a few other floates on the water and the lovely aroma of maneure all around the pond. They had a blast however. Thank you Jay, Bonnie, Tresa and boys, Rachelle and Alexis and Kevin for coming up. We really enjoyed it!

A picture of the gang out ready to watch the rodeo.

Megan doing the pole bending event. (weaving the horse in and out of logs.)

Hunter ready for his turn and not giving up his turn very easily. Isn't he dressed for the occasion.

Sierra looking like a professional at it.

Lindsey always ready to stike a pose for any camera.

Next came roping the calves. Roper and Royce are giving it a go.

They got the calf and now there was a little work that needed to be done to it, something to do with a 'green cheerio' and turning the little bull into a steer. This always catches everyones attention.

Then they attempted to ride the calf. I wouldn't say we went 8 seconds exactly (or 2).

The infamous rope swing by the stock pond. They used the loader of the tractor to get their height up to swing. Cody and Zack are in the bucket. Zack is getting ready to jump.

Megan taking her turn. She was brave and dropped in once. Do you like her lovely swimming suit. Nice tan skorts and a blue shirt. Never to be that color again.

Sierra was a gentle glider. Never went in all the way, but swung with the best of them. I don't blame her with that clean of water.

Royce getting some major height for his jump into the pond.

Jason showing them how it is done.

Jason and Royce.

I usually don't get pangs of homesickness anymore, but those pictures of the stock pond with the mountains in the back ground brought some longing feelings back for sure!

Even still, I am not sure I will be diving straight in when we get home this next week.

See you soon.
