We are Home!

Well, we got to come home this afternoon. We went to Boise yesterday and Sierra got a picc line in. She couldn't keep an IV going long enough to get a continuous round of the medication going. So she was discharged from the hospital here in Baker and we went to Boise. It was fun to see all the nurses we knew from almost 2 summers ago. It is always fun to see Amanda there. We returned that same afternoon and was readmitted to the Baker hospital. The doctors discussed options and decided with a picc line in I could administer her medication at home (thank you!!). Her rash actually hasn't grown any the last 24 hours. That has been the frustrating thing, that it keeps growing and that spot blisters and then you have to wait for it to scab over. But, the fact that the rash hasn't grown the last 24 hours is very encouraging. We are hoping only another 24 - 36 hours of the IV medication and she will be done. So far, as long as she is 100% scabbed over by Monday the 14th of April, we are still on for her biopsy.

We are so happy you guys are home! At least you can have some sense of having things normal. That will be good to have a biopsy right after this ordeal. That way you can feel good about Sierra is.

Yay! I am so happy you all got to go home. I thought it was pretty silly to get a picc and have to stay in the hospital. That will be so good to keep the biopsy as scheduled. Good luck with everything!

I am glad you got to take her home!!! Being a nurse sure does come in handy sometimes huh?!? Well, I hope everything stays on schedule so that she can have the bx.

I love the picture of the track stars! you are the greatest family and we missed you terribly today at the "Bay to Brakers" race in San Francisco ~ we walked, slowly in a group promoting organ donation awareness. Anyway, this race was part competitive race, but mostly a crazy party...and we would've had even more fun with you guys there. We love you all so, so much. Stacy, make sure you eat a little extra chocolate for me...and the baby! hugs all around for our favorite Binghams!
