All kinds of good stuff came off today. three chest tubes... yes all three, the ventilator (for the 2nd time), EEG leads off his head, one or two IV's, Oxygen canulas, and the packing in the old HeartWare site. Only one small set back. After the vent was taken out, and the waiting period was over, he drank too much fluid and threw up. Not a big deal, that just set him back on when he could drink again, which set him back from going on his first walk. Again, not a big deal, we are just excited to get him up and walking. Honestly, I think if we had the right nurse, she could have gotten things arranged, but maybe tomorrow.
They have kept his blood pressure under control and he seems to be feeling soooo much better. No head pain, and definitely no seizures.
I took the kids to church today and really enjoyed getting out and interacting with other members. Stacy stayed here with Gage Aurelius.
Stacy and I are gearing up for getting back into school. With one of us here and the other running kids around, we should be able to get into a good routine. We are thinking I might be able to get home for tax season if Gage continues to improve. But if I need to be here, that is perfectly fine. Either way, it will all work out.
Sorry there was no drama to report. We had enough of that last night.
Later,
Jason
Gage's teacher, Mary Blazinsky came by for a visit. They put together a cute little video for his class mates. You can tell he is feeling better.
Stacy left with the kids, so Gage and I could play around....
...or maybe just watch a movie together.
Looking good! You must be relieved. Good luck this week and I hope that things keep going in the right direction.

ReplyDeleteLooking good bro. What a great update and like most things in life, "No Drama" is a good thing. Something about those last two pictures remind me of Mike's girlfriend (I think) on Monsters, Inc. Whether you are rocking the Fabio look, lion's mane, or braids, I think the hair gives you more options and you better keep it till after the reunion......
ReplyDeleteHe is looking much better tonight. He has had enough drama for a while (forever, I hope).
ReplyDeleteSo glad to hear he is doing better. Continued prayers groom all of us.

ReplyDeleteSo glad Gage is doing better!!! Such a trooper!!! Jason, I think you need to convince Robert to have his hair done like that. His hat might fit better then when he is out in the wind trying to fertilize!! :) Prayers to you all!

ReplyDelete🙏🏻 🤗 ❤️
ReplyDeleteSo relieved to hear Gage is doing better. I know all too well what a relief it is to have the ventilator out. I also can sympathize with the pain of every little cough or movement. I just finished reading your past blogs and have felt teary eyed for the last several days. Your family is such a testimony to Gods grace. God is good.
