Tuesday night at the RMH

So it has been a few rainy days. Thank goodness we do not have much to report.  Since Saturday, we have done relatively 'normal' stuff.  Saturday we spent the day at the RMH. Gage was definitely excited to get out of the hospital.

Sunday we went to church.  After the the first meeting of church, Gage just headed off to primary.  He didn't ask, just disappeared off with the other kids.  Stacy and I looked at each other, and just let him go.  We thought he wouldn't be up for it, but there was no question in his mind. He just headed off by himself like he had been doing that all along. It was great!  After church we had dinner with the Zengers.  Played some fun games and laughed a lot.  It was a good time.

Monday was pretty easy going.  Megan had basketball practice, we did some Christmas shopping, and played here at the RMH.  Today the older kids and I went on a nice bike ride.  We showed Lindsey the route to Jordan Middle School and gave her some good pointers.  We had dinner and kids made cookies the Steven's house then we rode over to Paugh's to see their Christmas decor.  Very enjoyable evening.

So now for Mr. Aureleous, Gage had his 1st clinic appointment this afternoon.  There are a few things they are still watching and monitoring, but all in all, he is doing great.  His next appoint is Monday.  His is still a bit puffy in the face, tummy aches and nausea, kidney levels are still a bit elevated, appetite stinks, and gets nightly feeds through the hose-in-the-nose. Stacy keeps track of his calorie intake, then adds whatever Gage did not take in by mouth into the nightly feeds.  Again, having said all this, he is doing great.  He carries Blackwood around on his back, gets dressing changes 3 times a week, and is getting around pretty good.

Stacy and the crew are settling into our RMH. I am getting into my work, and the kids are excited to start school.

We are definitely counting our blessings.....

We are planning on continuing all our family Christmas traditions, California style (but missing our Oregon home and Axelrod).

Merry Christmas,
Jason
