Gage's Birthday and Lindsey's 1st Surgery

OOOps!! We forgot to blog about Gage turning 2. His birthday was October 1st, and unfortunately that falls during the deer hunt. So, big parties for him will happen after he turns eight and is up at deer camp with everyone else. He is so cute! I have had a hard time cutting his hair because of the adorable curls he surprised us with.

On December 9th, Lindsey had her first and hopefully her last surgery. She was having a horrible time sleeping and was snoring really loud when she slept. After some check ups with the Dr. and a visit with the ear, nose and throat specialist, we decided that her tonsils and adenoids needed to come out. She was very excited before the surgery, I think because it was now her turn to be special like Sierra and get medical attention. However, after the surgery was a different story. She was very brave and did an awesome job. I was very proud of her. We couldn't believe how quiet she slept after the surgery. We had to go into her room and put our ears right by her to hear if she was breathing or not. She was certainly a trooper.

The bonus with her surgery was that Nick got his out a week later. She would always run up to Nick and ask how he was doing. She also had a few pointers to share with him before his surgery. It was very cute!

Lindsey getting talked to by the nurse anesthetist. All smiles.

They gave her this adorable stuffed puppy, and she got to have her blankey with her.

Almost ready to go!

See you in a bit Lindsey!

Very sleepy, trying to wake up.

She smiled just long enough to take the picture. Way to go Linds!

Grandma and Grandpa Hobbs 69th Anniversary and 89th and 90th Birthdays

In December my mom got together all of her siblings, and mostly all of the grandchildren to celebrate by Grandparents 69th Anniversary along with their birthdays. My grandpa will be 90 and my grandma will be 89. I can't believe for their age what they are still able to do. It was so fun to have everyone there and to visit with everyone. Some cousins I haven't seen for years. What a legacy my grandparents have left. Thank you both for your wonderful values and love you have passed on to generations of your posterity.

Thanksgiving 2010

This year we had a great Thanksgiving. We did something a little different than the traditional one we were used to, and it was WONDERFUL! Jason's parents rented a little apartment and some hotel rooms for all of us to stay in. EVERYONE was there! The cousins had such a great time playing together. Despite the showers that were there on and off the kids still had a great time playing in the ocean, chasing the seagulls, swimming in the hotel pool and playing games.

It will definitely be one of our most memorable Thanksgivings. We are so grateful to have such a wonderful family! Thank you Dale and Leslie for making it possible.

Lindsey Basketball

This year was Lindsey's first year of playing YMCA basketball. She was very excited, not only because her dad was going to be the coach, but also because her cousin Keanna was going to be here to play on her team with her. With her Uncle Justin being the assistant coach.

There is probably a reason that kids don't get really serious about basketball until middle school and high school. Her attention span was pretty short even going up and down the court. It was really fun though. She did great and we are really proud of her and Keanna.

Doing some defense!

She did occasionally go after the ball and threw it in.

Her dad and Uncle Justin did great they were really fun coaches!
