June 19, More Pictures

With Aunt Garrity in Boise

You can tell these are older pictures, notice the lack of IV's

June 19, 'Cath' Day

Pretty boring day yesterday, Monday.  My Mom and Dad were here.  Left about 10 am. Sierra and Seth went with them.  So now it is just Stacy and I until Friday.  On Friday Renee, Randy, Sierra and Gage will be coming over. Gage and Sierra have appointments next Wednesday.
Stacy and I have heart appointments tomorrow over on the adult side.
Lindsey ate poor in the morning, ate a bit in the afternoon.  Went on 2 short walks, she didn't want to do it, but we talked her into it.  Still on about 7 IV's (I think).  Slept well last night except she had an arrhythmia last night.  Not sure what that means, except it is NOT good.  More signs of heart failure.  They said it didn't last long and that she slept thru it.  If the arrhythmia does not stop, then I think they have to shock the heart back ( I think?) I just know it is not good!
Today is a big day. She is going in for a Catheritation procedure.  It's kinda like a biopsy except they are going to test the pressures in her heart and lungs.  They need this info for the heart transplant.  Lots of risk involved.  She still has the blood clot in the right side of her heart.  The clot could move and go to the brain, spine or other parts of the body causing stroke or paralisic.  Her heart could go into another arrhythmia and they would have to shock it back.  There is even a risk she would have to go on the echmo machine.  This is the heart / lung bypass.  When they do this procedure on such a sick heart, there is more risk involved, a risk that needs to be done to prepare for heart transplant.
Honestly, I am scared to death, blood clots, echmo, arrhythmias, all words I don't like. This is where we are at, and hope and pray for a good day.
Below a some cute pictures of her getting her hair washed and playing nerts.

June 17, Fathers day

Up day yesterday. Her levels came down over night. Kidneys better, heart rate down, less puffy in the face. I count 6 ivy's currently running. Big 2 are milrinone and dopimine. Played games and activities with her, last night we played nerts. Pretty wild. Today Uncle Seth is staying with her and Stacy, Sierra, and I are going to church.

June 16, 2012, Lindsey's Story

Lindsey Lou Bingham

This is our #3 child, our little Princess, Lindsey Lou.  She was showing signs of congestive heart failure,  swollen face, fatigue, nausea, vomiting and no appetite. We took her into the ER on May 20, 2012 there they took a chest x-ray and diagnosed her with Dilated Cardiomyopathy. How could this be happening.... again.... She was given a blessing that Sunday and headed off on her adventure on May 21st.  Her and her mother, Stacy, went to Boise, then on to Calif.  She has been here 4 weeks now and is currently in the CVICU on 6 IV's, Oxygen, and heart monitors.  She has been placed on the transplant list and the wait is currently 2-4 months.  Dr. Bernstein has reintroduced the Berlin Heart.  Since Sierra's transplant 6 years ago, they have done over 50 Berlin Hearts, with better success rating.  At the rate Lindsey is going, I would not be surprised to see her on the Berlin Heart within a week.  We will update as her story progresses.  The Lord blessed Sierra with a miracle, he can do it again.
Stacy is a trooper. She is strong.  She has perfect faith that Lindsey will come thru.
Till next time.

Sierra Playing Middle School Volleyball

Middle school does have its benefits. Sierra was able to play on the middle school volleyball team. Which is heavenly compared to the YMCA volleyball she's been playing. Her practices are during her 7th period. She has really enjoyed playing this year and is getting the middle school life down. The whole changing classes 7 times and day and knowing where you are going was her biggest worry. She is a good kid!

Sierra in the ready position.

"I got your back Kim!"

And It's Back to School

The time of year I hate and I love. I love the kids going back to school for the fact that it forces us to be on a schedule. I hate it in the fact that I miss them and enjoy being with them at home. I think it also reminds me how quickly they are growing up and how brief my time is with them.

Sierra in 6th grade. WOW!! A middle schooler!

Megan in the fifth grade.

Lindsey in the 2nd grade.

All three ready to quit taking pictures and get this day going. I believe the one who was the most nervous was Sierra. Middle school is a whole new ball game.

The boys jumping in for a group photo.

This was just a funny random picture of Gage with licorice.
